Group Counseling
preteens/teens

Mind Power Group for Preteens:

This group is designed for children ages 11-13 years old focusing on understanding emotional responses and triggers caused by anxiety and/or social and life pressures. Group members will develop skills including identifying how our thoughts affect our feelings and how our feelings drive our behaviors by using an evidence-based curriculum and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. It is our intent for this to be a safe place where children find validation through interacting and sharing experiences with other group members and at the same time increasing confidence in themselves.

Mind Power Group for Teens:

The Adolescent Mood & Anxiety Group provides a structured, supportive space for teenagers (ages 14–17) navigating anxiety, low mood, stress, and overwhelming emotions. This group combines evidence-based therapeutic modalities—primarily Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)—with peer support to help teens build resilience, develop self-compassion, and learn practical coping strategies.

Through guided discussions, interactive activities, and skill-building exercises, teens learn that they are not alone in their experiences while gaining concrete tools to manage daily challenges at home, school, and in social settings.

Executive Functioning & ADHD Coaching

Executive functioning is the brain’s built-in management system-the internal toolkit that helps us plan, organize, focus, remember, and adapt to daily demands. If you're struggling to keep up in any of these areas, Executive Functioning Coaching offers a clear path forward. Together, we work through practical, step-by-step strategies designed to help your brain’s system run more smoothly and effectively.

ADHD Coaching is a structured, strength-based partnership designed to help adults, teens, and children harness their focus and overcome executive functioning hurdles. Through goal-driven sessions, personalized step-by-step strategies, and supportive accountability, ADHD coaching empowers you to organize your time, reduce daily stress, and turn your potential into consistent action.

How It Helps:

  • Mastering Time & Organization: Develop intuitive planning, scheduling, and anti-procrastination systems.

  • Boosting Task Execution: Break down large, intimidating projects into manageable, step-by-step actions.

  • Strengthening Executive Skills: Build strategies for emotional regulation, impulse control, and working memory support.

  • Building Sustainable Habits: Move away from "one-size-fits-all" advice and create routines tailored specifically to how your brain works.

Psychoeducational Evaluations

We provide comprehensive psycho-educational assessments to better understand learning, attention, and emotional needs.

Uncovering how a person learns, processes, and experiences the world is the first step toward opening doors to meaningful growth. A psychoeducational assessment is a personalized, comprehensive evaluation designed to clarify your or your child’s unique learning profile, cognitive strengths, and hidden potential.

When learning, focus, or school performance feels like an uphill battle, it’s rarely a matter of effort. Often, it means the current environment or instructional style doesn't match how the brain processes information best. Through standardized measures, interactive activities, and thoughtful observation, we explore key areas like core learning skills (reading, writing, and math), memory, focus, and executive functioning.

How It Helps:

  • Clear Answers: Demystify persistent challenges with learning, attention, or executive skills.

  • Actionable Guidance: Obtain official documentation for accommodations (such as IEPs, 504 Plans, or extended time on standardized exams like the SAT/ACT/GRE).

  • Tailored Roadmap: Receive a compassionate, personalized plan with concrete strategies to support success at school, work, and home.

  • Results are translated into clear recommendations you can use at home and in school settings.

Special Education Advocay

We partner with families to navigate school systems, IEPs, and 504 plans so children with learning, behavioral, or emotional needs receive the support they deserve. Together, we clarify options and advocate for services that truly fit your child.

Navigating the special education system can often feel overwhelming, complex, and isolating. You don’t have to do it alone. Special Education Advocacy provides compassionate, professional guidance to ensure your child’s unique learning needs are recognized, understood, and fully supported in the school setting.

School plans should be as dynamic and individualized as the children they serve. Whether you are navigating an initial evaluation, seeking appropriate accommodations, or refining an existing plan, we partner with families to demystify school processes, translate evaluation data into meaningful supports, and foster collaborative relationships with school teams.

How I Can Help Support Your Family:

  • Plan Navigation & Review: In-depth review of IEPs, Section 504 plans, psychoeducational evaluations, and school records to ensure recommendations are actionable and appropriate.

  • Meeting Support & Representation: Attendance and active advocacy at IEP, 504, eligibility, and manifestation determination meetings to ensure your voice is heard and your child’s rights are upheld.

  • Goal & Accommodation Alignment: Crafting measurable, strength-based IEP goals and identifying high-impact classroom accommodations, modifications, and specialized services.

  • Collaborative Communication: Building constructive, productive lines of communication between your family, clinicians, and school personnel.
